AS OF THURSDAY, AUGUST 29, 2019, ALL COUNTY ROADS IN IRON COUNTY ARE OPEN TO ATV/UTV TRAFFIC, with the exception of a section of J around the Mercer school that is not open due to safety concerns. This does not include state highways, such as 51, 2, 47, etc.
Attend a Meeting
The next Mercer Dusty Loons ATV club general meeting will be TBD.
Looking for something fun to do over Labor Day weekend? Join our Big Foot Hunt! It starts on Thursday, August 29th and runs through Sunday, September 1st.
First: Pick up your Big Foot Hunt sheets at the businesses listed on the flyer below. (Sheets are $5 each, but you don't have to pay for the sheets until you drop them off.) Next: Go out and have some fun! Find the Big Foots along the trails following the clues on the sheets and then answer the questions. You will also need to find the Big Foots at the local businesses listed on the sheets. Please note the hours the businesses are open. Remember to get your sheet stamped if you find them! Each question that you answer correctly is worth 1 point. Each Big Foot that you find in one of the local businesses is worth 1 point. You can earn an extra point if you identify the Big Foot in the businesses in Gile. Next: Turn in your sheet at any of the local area businesses or at our 1st Annual Picnic at Carow Park on Sunday, September 1st. Prizes will be awarded to the participant with the most points. If there are multiple top points, then 3 winners will be drawn at random. Winners will be notified by mail in 10 days so don't forget to include your address! |

Trail Report
Town of Mercer Roads
The Town of Mercer Board has approved all town roads open to ATV/UTV access except the following: Portage Avenue, Margaret Street between Library Street and County Highway J, and John Dul Road. This is a huge accomplishment for the ATV/UTV community in Mercer. Getting to the trails will now be easier. Thanks to all who supported this issue. Note that this only includes town roads and not county roads.
Please be respectful, watch your speed down residential roads and stay off of private property. We don't want to loose this privilege. Remember, the new bike trail in town is for non-motorized vehicles only. Please watch where you are going and keep to the gravel trail! We are continuously looking to improve our trail system. If you see a trail that needs maintenance, please let us know by emailing us at [email protected]. |
Calling All Volunteers
Want to help out? We are looking for volunteers to help sell raffle tickets, participate at events, and help groom and maintain the trails. If interested, please contact Lora at [email protected]. We appreciate the help! |
